Significance.
We spend our lives searching for it.
We rely on others to define it for us.
We pull the petals from a flower and hope that when the petals run out, we will matter to someone.
He loves me. He loves me not.
Significance.
Some search for it in business, others in vain mirror musings, others by controlling those around them. But celebrity and arrogance does not make one significant.
Some cannot open their minds to the possibility that they are significant, so they crawl inside a bottle, or hide in the shadow of another. Once they stop seeking their significance, they find a false alternative like worthlessness, shame or disgrace.
Who am I? Do I even matter? Will my carbon footprint be the only record of my impact on this world?
What is my significance? We question. We muse. We study. We think.
Maybe we think too much.
Perhaps that is why we have lost sight of our significance.
It has been said that the longest journey is from the head to the heart. That which is reasoned is not always felt.
Maybe we've got it backwards.
What if we start at the heart and work our way back to the head?
What if we decide to allow our heart to recognize the vibrational call of Love and run headlong toward it, unconcerned with the voice of the inner critic living in our mind.
Spirit connection can't be quantified, yet millions of people have experienced the presence of the Great Power.
What if our significance is tied into the connection between created and Creator, and our struggle is caused by trying to find it in our intellect when its home is in our heart?
Your heart knows that you matter to the Creator of this Universe, even if you have an unsophisticated or unformulated conception of that Creator.
Go out on a limb, and ask It to reveal Itself to you.
Find your significance at long last.
In the end, the cosmic flower petals always finish with, "He loves me."
