Twenty-five years ago, Mary Jane and Jack Hanley chose to dedicate their lives to helping others deal with chemical dependency and addiction. Mary Jane’s courage and vision coupled with Jack’s leadership gave birth to one of the country’s leading substance abuse treatment facilities, Hanley Center in West Palm Beach. Eventually, their team was able to open other centers to serve in new locations.
Vero Beach, Florida, is home to the Gate Lodge, a residential facility that carries out the Hanley's vision three counties north of the initial center. To share the joy of those who have passed through its halls and go on to lead happy and useful lives, we are happy to announce a weekend of celebration that is designed to ensure future treatment opportunities for those without money or insurance. The events listed will raise money for the Jay Morgan Scholarship Fund, set up by a local firefighter as he battled brain cancer. His hope was to leave a legacy where no one would be denied quality rehabilitation for drug or alcohol dependency because of financial limitations.

Friday, November 18th Celebrate Recovery BBQ was $15 We are hoping the local recovering community will join us with friends and family to eat some good vittles and hear a wonderful message of what it was like in active addiction, what happened, and what it's like now. Our two guest speakers will make plain the effect of the 12 Steps on their own lives, and give encouragement to those who need help personally, or who have loved ones that could benefit from the message.

Sunday, November 20th Celebrate Change Brunch Workshop was $25 Vero Quest, a team of three local women specializing in Mind, Body, and Spirit integration, will present a wonderful teaching on "Embracing the Aspects of Change." Do you have a hard time accepting change, or do you run toward it headlong? Join us as we uncover the difficulties or effecting quality changes, and discover new ways to embrace change as a welcome and expected part of life.
